Methods against psychological pressure

Stress is omnipresent in everyday life. Several studies have already shown that stress can lead to psychological problems and promote cardiovascular diseases. People suffering from an anxiety disorder or depression are also increasingly exposed to stress. It is therefore particularly important for people suffering from stress to find a way to cope with the pressure.

Too often stress is simply accepted and perceived as normal. Doctors at the American Mayo Clinic warn of this negligence. Because stress can contribute to severe cardiac arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. In addition, some studies suggest that long-term stress can lead to mental health problems such as depression, burnout (burned out), and anxiety. Such disorders in turn interact with heart diseases. Proper stress management is therefore very important for health.

These methods work against stress

The Mayo Clinic team presents some stress relief methods that can have good effects. This includes:

  • Meditation,
  • Yoga,
  • Relaxation methods such as autogenic training or progressive muscle relaxation,
  • Spending time with family and friends,
  • regular physical activity,
  • a healthy diet,
  • a positive attitude.

Psychological complaints are related to atrial fibrillation

Some research has shown that people with atrial fibrillation are more affected by depression and anxiety. However, it is currently still unclear whether such psychological disorders trigger cardiac arrhythmia or whether the heart complaints lead to anxiety and depression. What is certain, however, is that there is a complex relationship between these diseases.

Don't wait any longer

Targeted stress management can help to reduce harmful psychological pressure and achieve a better quality of life. If symptoms such as prolonged sadness, constant worry, difficulty concentrating and loss of interest in most activities, a doctor should be consulted. (vb)
